DESCRIPTION:On Sunday morning September 15 we will hike 10 miles to the peak of Mt. Baden Powell. This hike partially fulfills the requirements for Hiking Merit Badge. \nMeeting Time: 6 a.m.Meeting Location: Scout HouseArrival Back at the Scout House: Approx. 3 p.m. \nBring 3 liters of water\, high carbohydrate snacks consisting of approximately 1200 calories\, and $10 for lunch after the hike. Scouts and adults must have previous hiking or backpacking experience or the equivalent conditioning.

DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Backpacking Discussion \nHello Backpackers\, \nTroop 355 is going backpacking on October 19th; Buckhorn to Cooper Canyon Trail Camp along the Burkhart and Pacific Crest Trails in the Angeles National Forest. This is a great opportunity for first time backpackers to get some experience because the hike into camp is 2.7 miles and one of the flatest hikes you are ever going to get in the Angeles National Forest (with only a net loss of 250 feet in elevation).  \nParents and Scouts who are interested in backpacking are encouraged to attend. The 45 min meeting will cover the unique equipment needs for Scout backpacking. Please wear your uniform since we head right into our Troop Meeting following this session.
