The RMH is a house where families can stay while their children are being treated at the Huntington Memorial Hospital. \nThe RMH recently had two nice BBQ grills donated and installed in the backyard.  My project will create a stone patio with seating and tables so that the visiting families can have a place to sit and enjoy their BBQ. DESCRIPTION:TROOP 355 SPRING BACKPACK TRIPSANTA ANITA CANYONSPRUCE GROVE TRAIL CAMP \nWHEN: Saturday\, April 26 and Sunday\, April 27 \nWHERE: Chantry Flat to Spruce Grove Trail Camp.  On Saturday we will hike up Santa Anita Canyon and over Sturtevant Falls to Spruce Grove.  On Sunday we will return to Chantry Flat via Mt. Zion and the Winter Creek Trail.  \nDIFFICULTY: The hike is 4.2 miles on Saturday\, with an elevation gain of about 1400 feet.  On Sunday we will hike 5.5 miles – we will gain 300-400 feet as we hike to the summit of Mt. Zion\, then the rest of the hike will be a descent to Chantry Flat.  \nCOST: $10 per person\, to be delivered to Mr. Moffat.  \nAVAILABILITY: This is an intermediate backpack trip.  This trip is not recommended for first time backpackers – instead\, we would recommend that you join us on our introductory backpack trip next fall. If you have not backpacked with us before but would like to go on this trip\, please contact Mr. Shwery or Mr. Moffat to discuss.  \nMEET: At Scout House at 8:00 AM on Saturday\, April 26. We will divide Troop gear and food then depart for the trailhead. The trip to Chantry Flat is about 40 minutes.  We will return to the trailhead Sunday about midday and be home by 2:00 PM.  \nMEALS: Eat a big breakfast on Saturday morning before the trip. Otherwise you may bonk! Bonking is not cool\, it hurts. Don’t bonk! Bring your own trail lunch Saturday\, dinner will be provided Saturday night (Philmont style)\, bring your own breakfast bars\, instant oatmeal\, cocoa for breakfast on Sunday. \nSPECIAL NOTES: \nIt will likely be cold (40 degrees) at night\, be prepared with long johns and a beanie hat to sleep in\, a good sleeping bag\, a jacket and gloves. The Pack has requested that Scouts from Troop 355 help set up the Cub Scout tents. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your strong camping experience. This is a great opportunity for your Scouts to fulfill their Color Guard requirement and be appreciated by the Community. DESCRIPTION:Troop 355 is returning to Jalama Beach!  Back by popular demand\, this trip will take us north and west to Jalama Beach for a classic Troop 355 beach campout. This year we have the campsites reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights\, so campers will have the option of coming Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. \nThis trip will be a bit more flexible than many of our other trips. Scouts will have the opportunity to get advancement signoffs\, but will also have plenty of time to swim or play on the beach. We will cook for dinner and breakfast. Patrols will have the option of cooking lunch together or eating at the camp store.  \nBring: Swim suits\, beach towels\, wetsuits\, footballs\, basketballs\, volleyballs\, Scout Handbook\, a little money to waste at the camp store (the Jalama Burger is great!)\, and firewood! Check the car camping gear list. It will be cold at night so be sure to bring your cold weather clothes. \nDirections to Jalama Beach134 WEST101 NORTHExit HWY 1/Lompoc and Vandenberg AFB (PCH) NORTHTravel approximately 15 miles to Jalama Road.
