SUMMARY:Salesmanship Merit Badge
DESCRIPTION:The Salesmanship Merit Badge will be taught in two sessions. Scouts must attend both sessions to earn the badge. First will be a classroom session on Monday June 27\, 630-8 p.m. at the Scout House. No uniform is required for the class. The second session is a field experience to sell red\, white and blue glowsticks at Lacy Park on July 4. The glowstick sales will be  after the parade and before the fireworks – watch for the troop emails with more details. Class A uniforms are required. No sash please. We will meet right after the parade at the flag poles on the east side of Lacy Park. Then we will start selling those glowsticks – and we will see who can sell the most. SUMMARY:San Marino Independence Day Parade - Click for Details
DESCRIPTION:We will meet at the Chevron gas station at 4:15 p.m. on Monday\, July 4\, on the corner of Huntington Drive and Monterey Road. We will distribute wristbands (see note below on wristbands) to our scouts at that time. We will then be assigned our banners\, and the parade will begin about 4:45 p.m. We will march down Monterey Road to Virginia Road\, then enter Lacy Park where the parade will end. Parents and siblings are welcome to follow along with the parade on the sidewalk\, or just meet your scouts at the end of the parade. Dress for the parade is full Class A uniform without sash. Service hours will be granted to our parade marchers. \nGlowstick Sales Event – Following the parade\, our scouts in the Salesmanship Merit Badge class will complete the badge by selling glowsticks in Lacy Park. Scouts who are not in the Merit Badge class are also welcome to participate. We will meet at the flagpoles on the east side of Lacy Park (near the Virginia entrance) when the parade ends\, and start selling – this should be about 6:00 p.m. The sales event should last until about 7:00 p.m. Dress for the sales event is full Class A uniform without sash.  \nWristbands – Please note that everyone will need a wristband to enter Lacy Park on July 4. Scouts who march in the parade will receive wristbands when they check in before the parade. If you are participating in the sales event\, but not marching in the parade\, it would be best if you get your wristband prior to the parade on the 4th – please contact Mr. Moffat to arrange to pick up a wristband from his house prior to July 4. \nFamily members who wish to go into Lacy Park should obtain their own wristbands (see instructions below). If you will not be entering the park but wish to pick up your scout after the parade or sales event\, plan to meet your scout at the Virginia entrance to Lacy Park. \nHow to get your 4th of July WristbandsResidents: Pre-sale wristbands will be available for $5 each. Proof of residency will be requested; bring an identification card with your address or a utility bill. Children 2 and under are free. Non-residents: Pre-sale wristbands will be available for $15 each. Children 2 and under are free.ALL wristbands purchased on the Fourth of July are $20 each (for residents and non-residents)\, children 2 and under are free.  \nYou may purchase wristbands from the locations listed below. DESCRIPTION:The annual Kern River Rafting trip will be held on Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-30). We will arrive at the Sierra South rafting outfitters in Kernville early Saturday morning. We will board buses and ride up the river for a rafting run. We get back on the buses and run the river again. Then we have lunch and work on the whitewater merit badge. After that we travel up the river 30 min. to Camp Whitsett (a BSA camp in the Sequoia National Forest). We make camp and spend the afternoon working on scout skills. That evening we have a formal campfire at which we retire an American flag with an official ceremony. The next morning we go on a five mile hike and work on some more scout skills. We relax and enjoy the afternoon. A campfire that evening concludes the trip and we break camp early on Monday morning and head home. This is the first camping trip with our new scout patrols\, and a great way for them to start off with Troop 355.

DESCRIPTION:The ceremony will take place in Founder’s Hall on Poly’s north campus. There is an underground parking garage that enters off Wilson. Please park there. Take the stairs up to the mail floor. When you arrive at the patio\, turn right and head towards our playground. Once at the playground\, bear left across the area to a covered hallway. Founder’s Hall will be just at the end of that walkway.

DESCRIPTION:The Winter San Marino Boy Scout Court of Honor will be presented from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Huntington School auditorium. The Court of Honor is the Troop’s most prestigious and inspiring event. Wear your full Class A uniform: Boy Scout shirt\, pants or shorts\, belt\, socks\, neckerchief or bolo tie\, and merit badge sash. \nTroop 355 will recognize new Eagle Scouts and hear their personal Scouting stories. All scouts that earned a rank advancement since the Spring Court of Honor will be publicly recognized on stage for their accomplishment. \nArrive 15 minutes early. The Court of Honor starts promptly at 3:00.
